Warm Winter's Day

Admittedly, it's been a really long time since I've posted here.  The truth is that the weather for the most part has reduced the level of activity on Solomons Island tremendously.  Sunday's warm sunshine brought out the crowds and reminds us all of what the spring will return..  lot's of families, couples, dogs, motorcycles and cars along with runners, walkers and artists.  Let's not forget the scenery and wildlife either.  Here's a sample of vibe from Sunday.

We're all guilty of this aren't we?  Some nice quality time with our partner, and we end up head-down in the 'smart phone.'  Okay, if you're not guilty, I know I am.

This Mustang was rumbling through the streets - LOUDLY!

The pup below definitely liked the view along the railing.

Can someone tell me if this is a Newfoundland?  Whatever he (she?) is ...he's massive!  The baby could certainly be a passenger.

The older sister had the clear size advantage in this race, but she kept her brother within a few paces.  I shouted as they neared the finish (end of the boardwalk section)  "I think he might just win!"  She smiled and said "I know!"  Then they both walked back to the parents.  It was wonderful to see.

This is the bell in St. Peter's Episcopal Church's Bell Tower.  You can see that it was made at the McShane Bell Foundry.  The casting shows the location as Baltimore, more specifically it is located in Glen Burnie, MD

Did I mention there were dogs?

Ah, yeah, this is Dog Country!

That's a flock of Bufflehead ducks below.

I did mention there were families, and dogs.. right?

The boy in the middle had been petting the dog on the left, and I don't think he really wanted to be moving on yet.

Close up on the dog.. Australian ..something?  Help me out folks.

This one I like a lot; check out the toddler reaching out to hold the dog.  The dog is checking out the baby in the stroller.  The baby in the stroller is checking out the toddler... and everyone is having a grand time.. Solomons Island style.

Okay, lastly, I have several shots of a flock of American Coots that wandered in near the RiverWalk.

They will eat small fish, but vegetation is a large part.  Looks like this one is slurping his food.

They look so cute..  now take a close up look at the bill!

 Last one is below.

Thanks for joining me.

Peace,
Brian
